Overview of the Workshop:
With ever increasing energy demand and associated global warming, efforts are being made to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This has added impetus to develop novel and cost-effective technologies for sustainable production of platform chemicals and biofuels as well as green hydrogen.
In this context, India and Germany are strongly working on harnessing and utilization of renewable energy in more cost effective and sustainable manner to evolve industrially deployable solutions. In order to foster these efforts, it is required to build a platform to discuss and exchange the knowledge between the academia and industry in both the countries to find a clear road map for sustainable chemical synthesis and energy technologies. Therefore, it is proposed to conduct an Indo-German workshop covering various ongoing research programs especially on Green Hydrogen, Carbon Capture & Utilization (CCU), biomass valorization and related topics. The conceptualized workshop would certainly bring in cross fertilization of ideas to further push the boundaries towards technological advancements and help both the countries to become resilient economies.
In this workshop, various academic and industrial experts with diverse backgrounds related to catalysis, chemical synthesis and energy technologies converge together for the brainstorming sessions and eventual interactions directed towards the development of sustainable technologies in the renewable energy arena that can be implemented on commercial scale and realized in the coming future.
